I found the Power Breath workshop to do what it sets out to do and more! It was very very powerful emotionally, opening a door in the mind that had been tightly shut.  I think everyone should learn about this practice no matter where you are personally or in the Veteran system. Leslye and Mark, were also just at the end of an email if you needed further help ( luckily I didn’t!)

The actual Power Breath  (SKY Breath Meditation) is something.  I use it 3-4 times a week after building up to it and incorporate it into my own meditations and routines. It’s given me the skills and confidence to attend a Veterans Parade ( which I would always try to avoid) and also get back out to nature hiking and even bringing my dog.

Every veteran I meet I love to talk about it and what they are missing out on, especially the skeptical ones!

Course Sessions

The Power Breath Meditation Workshop is taught over two 3 day workshops, with each day being a 3-4 hour session, and the two workshops spread over a period of two weeks

Take Home Tools

Learn a set of daily breathing practices that take about 25 minutes to complete. Some of the practices can be used as needed, day or night to reduce sudden anxiety or insomnia.

Ongoing Support

When possible, participants are also supported through facilitated followups with their trainers, arranged either in-person (when possible) or via teleconference (i.e. Zoom).

Upcoming Workshops

The Power Breath Meditation Workshop is taught over 5 consecutive days, in 2.5-3 hour sessions.

This program is for active military, their immediate family, retired military and their family, as well as military support workers. If you are a police officer, fire, ems or other first responder please email programs@iahv.ca for more information and upcoming programs for your speciality.
